Hi, I’m Sophie and I’m a trauma-informed coach and mentor who supports people to cultivate emotional wellbeing through a holistic, nervous system-informed approach.
I believe that all of us come into the world whole and with the innate potential to love, learn, and thrive. Health and wellbeing are our birthright. However, the impact of being born into families and cultures with unresolved trauma interrupts the natural impulse towards wholeness.
You might have been taught early in life to suppress your true self and conform to the expectations of the external world. In many subtle and not so subtle ways, you might have been given the message that parts of you are not okay and in attempts to receive the love you needed to survive, shut these parts down. It’s through this process that we lose touch with who we truly are and what it is we want in life.
The struggle is real. So much of what we bump up against in mainstream culture is detrimental to human health and wellbeing. We face a barrage of messages telling us how we should think, feel, look, and behave while preying on our insecurities and vulnerabilities. And then there is the passing down of dysfunctional patterns and wounds in our family systems.
For many of us, our experiences in childhood leave the imprint of trauma so that instead of walking through life with an innate sense of worth and purpose, we feel numb, disconnected, and directionless. For some, these experiences lead to mental illness, addiction, chronic disease, and tragically, even suicide.
Recovery is a process of learning to reconnect with self and meet our physical, emotional, relational, and spiritual needs. By responding to these needs, we cultivate habits of self-care that bring soothing and safety to our bodies and psyches.
My mission as a coach and mentor is to support you in the process of reclaiming your true nature. It is there, patiently waiting for you to remember and reclaim the truth that you are innately worthy, lovable, and powerful.
